Employee Rights Notice Posting
Employee Rights Notice Posting (name of tab)
As of November 14, 2011, most private sector employers are required to post a notice advising employees of their rights under the National Labor Relations Act. The 11-by-17-inch notice should be posted in a conspicuous place, where other notifications of workplace rights and employer rules and policies are posted.
The posters are available below for download and printing. Copies also are available from any of the agency’s regional offices. In addition, employers should publish the notice on an internal or external website if other personnel policies or workplace notices are posted there.
For further information about the posting, including a detailed discussion of which employers are covered by the NLRA, and what to do if a substantial share of the workplace speaks a language other than English, please see our Frequently Asked Questions.

In addition to the NLRB notice, the Board has stated that employers will be permitted to post their ownsupplemental notices of employee rights, as long as such notices do not contain “threat[s] of reprisal or forceor promise[s] of benefit.” Accordingly, ABC has produced a sample Supplemental Notice, designed exclusively for nonunion contractors, outlining additional rights granted to employees under the NLRA that are not mentioned in the NLRB’s notice.
It is important to note that the posting of ABC’s sample notice does not exempt an employer from its obligation to post the official NLRB notice as directed.
