On June 12, 2007, ABC WV member company Bi-Con Services, Inc was presented the "ABC National Safety Excellence Award" in the "Heavy and Civil Engineering Contractor" category in ceremonies that took place in Washington D.C.
Award winners were selected from ABC member firms achieving Platinum Status in ABC's Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP)Program. Selection criteria for the national safety winners included each member's self-evaluation scores, lost workday case rates, total recordable rates, and interviews conducted by memners of ABC's National Safety Committee.
According to ABC National Chairman Dave Meyer: "creating safe work environments is a top priority for the association. ABC provides member firms with safety training programs, information, and an annual safety training and evaluation process that serves as a benchmark and guide to maintaining an effective construction safety program. These winners have truly demonstrated their dedication to construction workplace safety."
ABC WV congratulates Bi-Con Services Inc, Marilyn Cole, Denny Patterson, Bill Cowden, and all those in the company who worked hard and safely to achive such a prestigous accomplishment.
